Sign up for the Learn and Earn program to earn money by helping faculty with their research projects.
Undergraduate students from MSE join teams within the department, Ames Laboratory, or the various IPRT centers to tackle specific projects in materials research and development.
You will select a team to join and then spend three to six hours per week on a research task directed towards the goal of the research project. You develop new experience, skills, and expertise that can help you in your job search later on.
You'll be paid hourly.
You must have a GPA of 3.0 or above to qualify since the research work requires evidence of high ability.
Sophomores in MSE are eligible.
Freshmen in their second semester who want to try MSE out before declaring an MSE major are also eligible.
