Amy Chumbley, the WebSEM Operator, is a high school science teacher turned stay-at-home mom of two young boys. During her five short years of teaching she taught every science subject except physics. She is married to Prof. Scott Chumbley who originated the concept of the WebSEM at Iowa State University. Scott works in the Materials Science and Engineering Department of Iowa State University. His expertise is in electron microscopy.
