The Mission of the MSE Department
The MSE Department will “provide a high-quality education in materials science and engineering at the undergraduate and graduate levels to prepare graduates for productive careers in engineering and related fields, to discover and disseminate new knowledge through creative activity in research and scholarship, to provide service to the state, nation, and world by advancing the science and engineering of materials, and, through these efforts, to enhance the human condition.”
The Vision of the MSE Department
is to be “a recognized center of knowledge, experience, ingenuity, research, education, and leadership that is unique in scope and unsurpassed in dedication to its students and other constituents.”
