Summary of career path: I received my B.S in Materials Engineering at ISU August 2009 – May 2013. I then went to complete my Ph.D. in Materials Engineering at Purdue August 2013-May 2017 as NSF Graduate Fellow. I started as a postdoc in June 2017.
Current place of employment: NRC Postdoc Fellow at Air Force Research Lab (at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH)
Day-to-day tasks: I work in the ceramic composites branch of the Air Force Research Lab, and as a post-doc, most of my time is spent in the lab. I work on 3d printing of pre-ceramic polymers and spend most of my time working on processing and characterization of these materials. I also get the opportunity to travel frequently to domestic and international conferences.
